Teen partners with Skye Bottle to raise funds during COVID-19 crisis
Proceeds to be donated to student-run group making face shields for essential workers
A 16-year-old has found a way to help during the COVID-19 health crisis while on quarantine. In fact, he is not only helping essential workers receive free face shields that they direly need and procuring funds for a group of students who make it, he is helping the environment while also helping a small business.
Tristan Manalang, a junior from West Ranch High School in Santa Clarita, has partnered up with Skye Bottle as part of his family’s vision to be more environmentally aware and live a sustainable lifestyle.

Skye Bottle is a small business started by Sarah Bulaon, a mom, who was just tired of spending too much money buying cases bottled water while seeing her recycling bin get full of water bottles. Thus Skye Bottle was born in 2014.
Tristan also collaborated with Open-Source Print and Protect (OPP) a 100 percent student founded and run organization dedicated to manufacturing and donating face shields to our essential workers. (Visit www.printandprotect.org for more information.)
With every Skye Bottle he sells, he is donating a portion of his proceeds to OPP to support their goal of delivering at least 1,000 face shields to essential workers for free.
Tristan’s partnership with Skye Bottle is also a great learning tool in running and marketing a small business, as well as being able to help the environment. More than that, it also creates an opportunity to pay it forward by supporting OPP and essential workers.
